Young Grizzly Bear Captured In The West Kootenai
A two and a half year old male grizzly bear was captured on August 30 in the community of West Kootenai after it had frequented houses and got into apples and garbage. The grizzly was captured in an effort to avoid further conflicts with humans.

Pictograph Cave State Park fall hours start
Hours at Pictograph Cave State Park will change, effective Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010. Park hours during the remainder of September are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week. The visitor center is open each day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Registration Coming Up for Polson Hunter Education
Registration for the Polson Hunter Education course is scheduled for Tuesday, September 7 at 6:30 pm at the Polson Middle School Cafeteria. Classes run September 14 – 17 (Tues – Fri), 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The test is scheduled for the last hour at the September 17 class. The field course is scheduled for Saturday, September 18.

Registration, Drawings Coming Up For Aluminum Plant Hunting Areas
Columbia Falls Aluminum Company (CFAC) has enrolled two areas of their land into the Block Management hunting program this year. Both areas are limited access only, and permission is given at the FWP Region One office in Kalispell. The South Half property is for youth ages 12-15 and hunters with a permit to hunt from the vehicle only. The North Half is walk-in only and is open to youth and hunters with disabilities only.

FWP Seeks Comment on Anaconda Shooting Range Grant EA
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking public comment on a proposal to provide , 535 in shooting range grant funds to the Anaconda Sportsmen Club and Anaconda-Deer Lodge County in order to build a new archery range.

Chief Plenty Coups State Park to Host Day of Honor
PRYOR – The 16 th Annual Day of Honor Celebration, featuring Crow storytellers, will be held Saturday, September 4 at Chief Plenty Coups State Park near Pryor. This is a day of cultural sharing to honor the great Apsáalooke (Crow) chief, Plenty Coups. The event includes storytellers, drummers, and dancers; tours of the museum, chief and #39;s house, medicine spring, and burial site; and concludes with a buffalo feast.
